Killzone 3 Review

*Note this is the old type of review with criteria Killzone 3 came out this past Tuesday for most of the world. A few other regions are waiting until today actually. Regardless most of us who wanted to get our hands on this game have done so. This review may seem a bit late but being a gamer like you, I don't get the game any earlier so it took me a couple of sessions to actually beat the game. I have only played through it once and just on the normal difficulty but already I can tell some large differences from Killzone 2 to Killzone 3. Some I like and others I am not too fond of. I will be breaking down the review in terms of Graphics, Gameplay, Story, and Controls alike. Mutliplayer will have a completely separate review as it is HUGE! Graphics The graphics in Killzone 3 are nothing short from amazing. However, as much as graphics are nice to look at, the gameplay and pacing is what really makes a game but we will talk ab...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Review

*Note: This is the old type of review with criteria Gameplay Call of Duty Black Ops 2 plays very similar to other games within the franchise however as always when new weapons and abilities are added it affects the gameplay ever so slightly. Keep in mind that the speed of the gameplay is what truly makes COD so popular and such an innovator as a franchise. Something else to note is that this is the first game to allow the player to make choices in which case some of them will affect the story line. Essentially this is less linear then any other COD campaign and that is a welcomed change in my opinion. One other thing to point out is that even though the story can change the campaign has you playing both sides similar to the original Black Ops. That is, you get to play as the villain for a chapter (a short one at that) but even still you get to kind of experience both sides which is always a fun aspect of things.  One of the biggest...

Battlefield 3 Review

*Note: This is the old type of review with criteria Battlefield 3 was released on October 25th for the PC, 360, and PS3. EA and DICE have been boasting about this game for some time now. The marketing of the game has been big and has hyped up many gamers alike. Now that the game is out the reviews are proving to be pretty high overall showing that this game can stand on it's own two legs without the marketing needing to push it forward. The game has amazing graphics and overall appeal but tends to fall a little short in the Single Player campaign aspect. However this isn't a large deal considering most gamers won't even touch the campaign since Battlefield 3 is all about the multiplayer. In that regards, it really delivers. Gameplay For the most part the game feels pretty good. You can run with your gun but you can't sprint all that fast so it gives the illusion that you are carrying a heavy weapon. In fact when you have heavie...

Resistance 3 Review

*Note: This is the old type of review with criteria Resistance 3 is the third installment in the Resistance franchise that seemingly promised a better experience then Resistance 2. Right away this can be seen with the improved visuals and overall story line not playing as Nathan Hale but instead we take the role of Joe Capelli (Nathan's killer at the end of R2). This is a fresh view on the whole Chimeran attack and it is a nice one. While the story still wasn't amazing, it did have more emotion and more drive then Resistance 2. Read on to see the full review of Resistance 3, exclusively for PS3.   Gameplay From Resistance 2 to Resistance the gameplay changed pretty drastically, especially when Nathan Hale got "super powers". The aiming felt different and more fast paced in R2. For Resistance 3 the aiming felt like a mix between R2 and R1. Truthfully it was pretty well balanced and the guns felt heavier and more realistic...
